The Way To Write For Riches On The Internet

Writing. It’s something we start doing in primary school. We grab a pen or crayon and scribble out some words that express our thoughts. But until now, unless you wrote books that featured prominently on The New York Times Best Sellers list, or were a maven of direct-marketing copywriting, writing has been a rather unappreciated ability.

The tables have turned. The demand for writing is larger than previously. Why? Because writing can make you wealthy on the web.

Persuasive Website Copywriting

When copywriting for a website, many marketing managers forget the number one goal is to convince. So they fill up the page with internal-speak (jargon only company insiders understand), and a little chest-thumping talk of why their organization is so great. Then they check it over, and they’re finished. They check it off the ‘to do’ list.

But website copywriting is meant to convince someone to make a purchase, or at a minimum to sign up for additional info. This means the website needs to show how the service will improve the website visitor’s life, why this corporation’s product trumps the competitor’s, offer proof that it’s superior, and include a powerful call to action.

SEO

Search engine optimization is often split into “on-page” optimization and “off-page” optimization. On-page search engine optimization includes your website’s content and how it’s tagged. Off-page optimization is the links that lead to your website. Google, Yahoo and Bing see links from other websites as signs saying “Hey, this website over here has some content that’s worthwhile.”

  • Keyword-Rich Content

So, let’s talk about the on-page optimization. Keyword-rich website content can make you rich. That means creating a lot of content that contains the keywords and keyword phrases that your prospects and clients would tend to use in a search. If you write your content with keywords sprinkled in the correct proportions and places, your website will begin to scale the search engine rankings, attracting more visitors to your website, and extra money to your pockets.

  • Blogging

You don’t just need keyword-rich content. You need lots of it. The most straightforward way to expand your website’s content is to start blogging.

  • Article Marketing

Now I'm moving on to the off-page search engine optimization. Remember those links you need pointing to your website? A great way to build links is with article marketing. Yes, creating articles just like this one. See how the links point back to my website? The search engines like that. This little article is effectively gaining votes for my website that likely will help it to rise in the search engine results.

If you want to drive prospects your way and enjoy writing, do it yourself. If not, hire a web copywriter.
