The key ingredient in sports

One thing about our society that is great is the sports that we love.Beginning with the pro athletes even going all the way to the little kids.  We get to enjoy it all.One very big thing about sports, it doesn’t matter how good you are, it all comes down to a mental game.

What do I mean by that?  We have all seen very gifted athletes who couldn’t make it.When you try to determine why, quite a few times it will be because of their mental state.  I know this for a fact helping a lot of athletes as a sports psychologist in San Diego.At each skill level you get to, what you will see is that everyone there is pretty good.The ones that can overcome the mental part of the game are the ones that will find success.

A majority of the times what holds back an athlete from success is the mental attitude they have.We see it all the time in cases of pro athletes who are gifted just can’t succeed in their game anymore.

But we are also very aware of the instances where there was an athlete who was struggling suddenly turn it around after hiring a sports psychologist.

In golf, Tiger Woods is definitely the strongest golfer out there mentally.  Yes he has an excellent game.  But it is amazing to watch his competitors wilt under pressure when playing him.Very vivid proof that shows just how mental sports are.

So for those people that want to go to a career in professional sports, they need to begin in high school.By beginning in high school, what I mean is to be sure that they tune their mental game into top form.If they need to do something, they should start by hiring a therapist.  I get hired all the time to do teen counseling in San Diego to help young athletes. 

When you boil it down to who will make it big or just be a regular, it definitely is all the difference in the world.So if you are experiencing struggles in sports, examine yourself.The majority of the physical struggles we experience are due to the mental struggles.
