Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS)

The Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme forms part of the Construction Skills (CITB) Site Safety Plus range of courses which are highly thought of in the construction industry and accepted as being the best quality of qualification for SSSTS Training.

The SSSTS training is geared towards site supervisors who are responsible for managing health and safety on site on a daily basis. The training aims to provide the effective skills and fundamental information necessary to carry out the supervisor role efficiently and ensure that candidates are compliant with up to date regulations. The qualification satisfy’s the specification detailed within the UKCG Supervisor Training Standard’.

During the two day training programme, supervisors will gather valuable knowledge in terms of their legal responsibilities whilst carrying out duties on site, the course also provides a better knowledge of health, safety, environmental and welfare issues. The necessity of promoting and encouraging health and safety at work in order to monitor effectively will be highlighted. SSSTS training is suited to individuals who are currently employed as a supervisor or will be taking on supervisory responsibilities within their role.

A number of health and safety matters important to the site managers role are examined within the course, including; The supervisors role, Health & Safety Law & Enforcement, Safe Systems of Work, Risk Assessment & Method Statements Principles of Prevention and Health & Safety Management

To qualify for the Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) accreditation, course candidates are required to pass an end of course examination as well as continuous assessment through interactive sessions. The SSSTS accreditation is valid for a five year period. Due to the nature of the regular updates within the construction industry legislation, it is advised that individuals attend a refresher course within three years of receiving their original certification.
