Regularly, enterprises will engage software methodologies that server as the plan for many type of projects, and outline the required deliverables. Project Managers may have a background in another IT discipline, however it’s not required.

Management: Just like other areas of an organization, IT will have layer(s) of management. Typically, the top of an IT organization is called the CIO (Chief Information Officer), though this may not be the case for smaller sized organizations. Mid-level managers frequently have duties over certain areas, such as Infrastructure, Business Systems, Development, or the Support Desk.
