How to get hired in a photography gig

Photography like any business will take a lot of work.There are still a lot of work involved even if you are passionate about it.Things like getting some customers to hire you is hard at first.But you will be successful someday if you do it the right way. So in this article we are going to look at a couple of ways you can get your first photography job.

One of the biggest jobs that you cang et is the wedding.This is a big job because the couple depends on you to capture the moments on their special day and capture it forever in photos.  As a San Diego wedding photographer the best way to get your first job is to network.There a lot of people who get married everytime.And there is always someone out there who knows someone who will get married.If you can just spread the word about what you do then eventually you will land your fisrt photo shoot.Most of the time the first gig you will get is through a referral.

The next big thing aside from wedding shoots is landing some corporate shoots.This can be tough to land because people usually prefer an experienced photographer to do this kind of shoot.  As a San Diego commercial photographer the way I got my first job was to look for smaller companies.  But you still have a chance because there are many small companies out there who still can’t afford to hire a very expensive but very experienced photographer.This can be your chance because they might as well give you your shot to do the job.

Finally there are other events or portrait types of jobs that you can still take. There are always big events happening.  As a San Diego event photography service I got my foot wet by taking photos of events. This was doing it for no pay but to build up my portfolio.  This way people could see my work and trust me to do a good job.

So those are some ways a new photographer can get a job.It will pay off as long as you have a lot of perseverance and hard work.
