Finding Reception Furniture

Ok, you’ve gone and done it. You replaced all of that worn out, ugly looking furniture in your office with new modern furniture, but you have yet to pick out any furniture for the reception area. You don’t know whhat kind of image you want visitors to have when they come in. Reception furniture is important because it is what your visitors will first see when they walk through your door. Your clients won’t be bowled over by dowdy pieces of furniture that look like they belong in a horror show. Actually, some might never come back because your furniture looked so bad. Clearly, the choice of appropriate furniture is one very important business decision. What story is your reception furniture going to tell?

While you might think that is a bit of a stretch that people get an impression of who you are and how you are doing by looking at your reception furniture, think again. The number one thing people react to when they are in a new place is the reception area; the hub of the office. The reception area needs to look good and look modern and professional. It depends what you do for work what kind of reception furniture you need. For example, you may want to choose unusual, one-of-a-kind furniture if you run an advertising agency, a radio or TV station, or a business that caters children’s events. Everyone in the office will have an idea of what they think reception furniture should look like and it may wind up being a choice of furniture by crisis management. Your only choice is to try to get the look that pleases the majority of the people involved. Ultimately, if it’s you paying the bills, then it’s your choice of reception furniture that wins the day. No matter who chooses the furniture, one aspect stays the same: all of the pieces should be comfortable for the people who have to sit in them. This means that those lemon-yellow, curved-back plastic chairs that you love may have to be sacrificed, since they’re not even remotely soft enough to sit on. If they are too hard, you probably don’t want them as reception furniture. Find something that works for you and something that your clients can be comfortable in. However, if you can find a lemon-yellow, curved-back plastic chair that comes with padding and doesn’t give people a backache, then you may have a choice to make. All in all, you need to pick some reception furniture that you can sit in for a while and still be comfortable.
